Excitable is the second album by Canadian/Dutch pop rock duo The Bruders, scheduled for the 21st of May 2026 by Bruder & Bruder and Jes Tube Records. Excitable paints a new way for The Bruders as it's a complete change in style from their debut album "Lonely Beat Of My Heart", with Excitable being a Pop Metal & Hard Rock album. The lead single "Does It Matter Anyway?" was released on the 16th of September.

Background & Recording

The recording of Excitable started on the 10th of March 2025. Due to van Olderen having left the band previously, the band started a Bruders album featuring only one Bruder. Mirnia started work on the album recording demos and writing new songs. The album kept being worked on with a change in style for The Bruders, Mirnia decided to ditch the heavy acoustic album style and instead opted for a Hard Rock & Pop Metal inspired sound. van Olderen rejoined the band on the 5th of June 2025, with a lot of the album already finished some compromises had to be made and the recording sessions continued. Mirnia announced that from this album forward each single will contain three B sides. The album is slated for release in May of 2026.

Usage Of Bass

Mirnia has confirmed that the bass on the album is played by him and not digital. He explains "It's actually just me using a reverb heavy amp with pedals and then just using the top 3 strings on my '94 Laredo, so yeah there's a life hack if you ever need one! But yeah all bass is either my '94 Laredo or my Harley Benton"

Change In Sound

"Excitable" is a change in sound for The Bruders, Going from a heavy acoustic sound to a Pop Metal & Hard Rock sound. Mirnia said of the change "Personally I've always loved a more heavy sound, so when I started writing songs for this album, I wrote them with a heavier sound in mind. This album only has 3 ballads, that's a hefty change from the 14 ballads on the last album. I also feel like Jesse (van Olderen) and me have grown and musicians and as people in general. Something that really inspired me is my '94 guitar, it has a floyd rose on it, and for you guitar players you will understand, it does something to you. From the moment that I got the guitar I haven't been able to put it down."

Album Title

The title "Excitable" was inspired by the track "Excitable" on Def Leppard's 1987 album "Hysteria". Being one of Mirnia's favorite albums he really took a liking to the name "Excitable" and thought it'd be a great title for the album which changes the image of The Bruders.
