The Bruders

Formation

The Bruders formed on the 30th of July, 2024. Talks of starting a band date all the way back to 2022. Since van Olderen didn't play any instruments back then, the ideas never became a reality.

In 2023 when van Olderen was working on his album, "The Many Faces," he suggested doing it together with Mirnia and calling it "The Bruder Album." This too did not happen due to technical limitations. Mirnia had just moved to Canada a year prior and then they didn't think it would work.

After collaborating on the van Olderen song "Country Song" in 2024, Mirnia suggested starting a band and recording serious music together. Mirnia and van Olderen started writing and recording demos on the 1st of August, 2024.

The Name

After forming on the 30th of July, 2024 they still needed a name. Mirnia and van Olderen always call each other "Bruder" which is German for "Brother", Mirnia and van Olderen agreed upon calling the group "The Bruders". No other names were ever considered.

Labels

The Bruders started under Jes tube Records but then decided to move to Bruder & Bruder as their sole label on the 24th of December 2024 . Mirnia said of the move "It was just the right decision y'know? i'm happy that everything is working itself out". All releases after 2024 were released on Bruder & Bruder except a few which were released in collaboration with Jes Tube. In July of 2025 Jes Tube became one of the labels of band after van Olderen rejoined the band. Bruder & Bruder remains the main label of The Bruders.

Recording Of: Lonely Beat Of My Heart

The concept of Lonely Beat Of My Heart was conceived by The Bruders member Roshaan Mirnia from 2019 to 2024. The concept is based on personal experience. The story of the album takes place in the late 80's and that can be heard in the sound too. the sound is reminisced of 1980's pop rock music. Mirnia modeled the main character of the story after himself. A lot of the concept came into fruition after Mirnia himself experienced a very turbulent relationship from June 2024 to August 2024 which inspired him to alter some lyrics in already written songs and to add some new songs to his concept. Those songs being "If This Means Anything", both parts of "(Will I Be) Left To Walk Alone", "How Can I Go On?", "It's Over", "(Another) Long Lonely Night" and the title track "Lonely Beat Of My Heart". With some fine tuning and the help of van Olderen the concept was ready.

The album was mainly recorded in Ottawa, Ontario due to Mirnia being the lead singer and instrumentalist. Track 3's acoustic guitar and all of van Olderen's lead vocals were recorded in Utrecht, Utrecht. The album was recorded using Dolby On, giving the album a timeless sound. the album features many instruments yet the most prominent is Mirnia's 1998 acoustic guitar that his father used before him. It can be heard on 11 of the 14 tracks. van Olderen left the band on the 5th of February 2025 due to creative differences with Mirnia. Mirnia recorded the final tracks and put the finishing touches on the album and the release date of 14th of February was achieved. Mirnia purposefully chose the release date to be valentines day.

Recording Of: Excitable

The recording of their second studio album Excitable started on the 10th of March 2025. Due to van Olderen having left the band previously, the band started a Bruders album featuring only one Bruder. Mirnia started work on the album recording demos and writing new songs. The album kept being worked on with a change in style for The Bruders, Mirnia decided to ditch the heavy acoustic album style and instead opted for a Hard Rock & Pop Metal inspired sound. van Olderen rejoined the band on the 5th of June 2025, with a lot of the album already finished some compromises had to be made and the recording sessions continued. Mirnia announced that from this album forward each single will contain three B sides. The album is slated for release in May of 2026.

Recording Of: This Is Not A Drill

During the recording sessions of Excitable, Mirnia's attention was heavily turned to the Palestine conflict happening. Mirnia decided to start writing a concept album about the war. The recording sessions for Excitable were put on halt on the 20th of June 2025 and recording for This Is Not A Drill began, Mirnia began recording the tracks one by one slowly completing the album, with van Olderen's additional mixing help 8 tracks were completed withing the first week, however due to Mirnia feeling like he was rushing the album he decided to put the focus back on Excitable and to keep writing for This Is Not A Drill to make it the conceptual rock opera it has the potential to be. The album is now slated for release in late 2026/early 2027
