The Bruders

Formation

The Bruders formed on the 30th of July, 2024. Talks of starting a band date all the way back to 2022. Since van Olderen didn't play any instruments back then, the band didn't form.

In 2023 when van Olderen was working on his album, "The Many Faces," he suggested doing it together with Mirnia and calling it "The Bruder Album." This too did not happen due to technical limitations. Mirnia had just moved to Canada a year prior and  they didn't think it would work. After collaborating on the van Olderen song "Country Song" in 2024, Mirnia suggested starting a band and recording music together. Mirnia and van Olderen started writing and recording demos on the 1st of August, 2024.

The Name

After forming on the 30th of July, 2024 they still needed a name. Mirnia and van Olderen always call each other "Bruder" which is German for "Brother", Mirnia and van Olderen agreed upon calling the group "The Bruders". No other names were ever considered.

Recording Of: Excitable

The recording of their first studio album Excitable started on the 10th of March 2025. Due to van Olderen having left the band previously Mirnia started work on the album alone, recording demos and writing new songs. The album kept being worked on with a change in style for The Bruders, Mirnia decided to ditch the acoustic style and instead opted for a Hard Rock sound. van Olderen rejoined the band on the 5th of June 2025, with a lot of the album already finished some compromises had to be made and the recording sessions continued. Mirnia announced that from this album forward each single will contain three B sides. 

Recording Of: This Is Not A Drill

During the recording sessions of Excitable, Mirnia's attention was heavily turned to the Palestine conflict happening. Mirnia decided to start writing a concept album about the war. The recording sessions for Excitable were put on halt on the 20th of June 2025 and recording for This Is Not A Drill began, Mirnia began recording the tracks one by one slowly completing the album, with van Olderen's additional mixing help 8 tracks were completed withing the first week, however due to Mirnia feeling like he was rushing the album, he decided to put the focus back on Excitable and to keep writing for This Is Not A Drill, to make it the conceptual rock opera it has the potential to be.
